The Mayor of Chicago, Brandon Johnson, believes that imprisoning violent criminals is ‘racist, immoral and unholy’
Johnson said that society needs to find other ways of dealing with the issue of violent criminals while speaking at a news conference on Tuesday alongside Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker.
He said: “We cannot incarcerate our way out of violence” arguing that ”we have already tried that, and we have ended up with the largest prison population in the world, without solving the problems of crime and violence.”
He went on: ”The addiction on jails and incarceration in this country, we have moved past that.”
”It is racist. It is immoral. It is unholy and it is not the way to drive violence down.”

The GateWayPundit reports: Chicago is notorious around the world for its problem with violent crime, recording hundreds of homicides each year.
This is driven largely by shootings concentrated in a small number of South and West Side neighborhoods, with most victims and offenders being young men.
Abolishing prisons is just one of Mayor Johnson’s many bright ideas on questions of law and order.
Among his most vociferous campaigns has been against the immigration enforcement raids ordered by the Trump administration to fulfill its promise of deporting millions of illegal aliens residing across America.
Last month, Johnson had a full-blown meltdown when a reporter used the term “illegal alien,” comparing it to calling black people slaves.
“We don’t have illegal aliens. I don’t know if that’s from some sort of sci-fi message that you wish to add,” Johnson snapped at the reporter.
“The legal term for my people were slaves. You want me to use that term, too? Look, let’s just get the language right.”
”We’re talking about undocumented individuals that are human beings,” he continued.
”The last thing that I’m going to do is accept the type of racist, nasty language to describe human beings.”
