In a September 3 press conference, Ladapo revealed that the Florida Department of Health would immediately cease enforcing vaccination requirements for public or private school enrollment, paving the way for legislative action with DeSantis and lawmakers to erase these mandates from state statutes entirely.

That same conference, DeSantis introduced the commission as Florida’s version of a similar initiative launched at the federal level by Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F.
