An African migrant, from Eritrea, committed an incredible number of crimes in a short period of time, perpetrating at least 46 crimes in just 13 months in Switzerland. The number and range of crimes is shocking, with the man routinely showing his penis to women on trains, committing thefts, and sexually assaulting at least one woman in Frauenfeld.
The man has been sentenced to three years in prison and ordered to be deported, with a ban on Swiss territory for 10 years. Whether they actually manage to deport him, or just shift him to another European country, remains to be seen. In 10 years, he may return to Switzerland.
He robbed from many different cities, committing thefts in St. Gallen, Thurgau and Zurich. In addition, he was known for his routine and bizarre acts of exhibition, exposing his penis to women on trains and even in a flower shop.
In one incident, he seriously sexually assaulted a woman in Frauenfeld, jumping on her at night, groping her, and sexually harassing her. It was only a matter of luck that the victim was able to wriggle free from the African and escape.
During his trial, the St. Galler Tagblatt reported that the defendant appeared to have no remorse or even any insight as to why he was in court. He dragged the court process on with interjections, although he spoke little German and had to have all his statements translated.
The man routinely asked for the court to repeat what had just been said, even though he appeared to be mentally absent from most of the proceedings.
Judge Daniel Geeler screamed during the proceedings, “You’d better listen!”
The man’s criminal convictions were 23 pages long, and the court case featured witness statements, videos, and even the occasional confession from the suspect regarding at least some of the crimes.
Although he was accused of 46 separate offenses, the court convicted him on only 31 counts, including sexual assault, theft, sexual harassment, and trespassing.
The African showed no remorse in court. He will also have to pay 50,000 Swiss Francs as restitution; however, it is unclear how he will ever obtain any such sum of money besides through taxpayer-funded welfare.
The Swiss judge, Geeler, seemed to be shocked by the man’s crime spree.
“The accused has an incredible 31 convictions, this court of law has never seen this before,” the judge said during the trial.
Now, Swiss media is using the case to showcase that “hardly any perpetrator in the region has accumulated such a criminal record in such a short period of time.”
Despite claims that “diversity is our strength,” cases like this are far from rare. One Lebanese migrant in Germany had over 100 active investigations for his various crimes, including stalking children on playgrounds in Zetel.
One Moroccan migrant terrorized a small German town for 10 years, with dozens of criminal offenses.
The small German town of Güstrow also featured one Afghan migrant with constant criminal offenses, leaving the town feeling helpless to stop him.
